surf shacks

Surf shacks are the basic shelter of the surfer.  They take all shapes, forms, and sizes.  They can cost millions or pennies, but the most authentic are designed and built by the surfers who occupy them, with hand gathered materials and hand tools.
This shack is of typical Native North American construction, hand cut support poles (palo zorillo), stuck in the sand, basket woven stick sides (palo de arco), and hand-tied-with-datil-fiber palm frond roof.  A handmade adobe brick floor, hand woven cowhide frame bed, an old door and two wood and glass windows make it a luxury shack without compromising the authenticity.   A perfect wave that peels to the bay window is this shack’s location location location qualification.

Inside, nothing beats waking up on the beach…
no one ever had a heart attack in a surf shack.
