Surfing and playing music are very similar activities: both require lots of practice/play time, tuning into and performing on waves that disappear permanently the second you stop; both demand intense concentration and therefore a letting go and absolute break from the swirling, otherworld around us; both feature hand/eye, ear/hand and mind/body coordination; they are a form of meditation and simultaneous creation; fun from the first day, they are sensual experiences that turn on all of the body’s feel-good endorphin and hormone switches.  In music, like surfing, there is no need to be a pro to derive maximum enjoyment, or to be a great player. No wonder so many surfers are musicians. Tune in, drop in on these sound wave surfers. They won't mind.
